The Yes That Changed Everything

Literacy isn’t dying. It’s waiting to be reborn. - Diane Devenyi

In a writing course, we were asked to explore what our soul is saying “Yes!” to.
Something inside me is whispering yes again. Not a polite yes, not a hesitant maybe—but a trembling, electric yes. The kind of yes that makes your skin shiver and your stomach flip.

It’s the yes to being fully seen.
To saying what I’ve known in my bones for decades: we’ve been teaching literacy wrong. And I know the way home.

This yes is scary, not because it’s untrue, but because it’s true enough to change everything. It asks me to stand taller. Louder. To gather the whispers I’ve heard from children and adults who thought they were broken—and carry them like torches into a world that forgot their light.

I hear people say literacy is dying. That maybe, in an AI-powered world, it doesn’t matter anymore. But my soul rises up and says: No. Literacy isn’t dying. It’s waiting to be reborn.

Not as silent compliance. Not as decoding drills.
But as a sacred technology that awakens the whole human: mind, heart, voice, soul.

That’s why I’ve launched The Alphabet Code Blog: a space where I’ll share stories, science, and soul about what happens when we decode the alphabet in ways that free—not fracture—our genius. You’ll find tools for parents, insight for educators, and hope for anyone who’s ever felt “not smart enough.”

8 Reasons

Here are specific topics you can expect to learn about:

1. Clear insights on dysgraphia and literacy that reveal what schools often miss.

2. Stories of transformation that prove what’s possible when hidden genius is recognized.

3. Multi-sensory solutions that connect eyes, brain, hands, and heart for lasting learning.

4. Updates from Project 111K, our global effort to bring literacy assessments to 111,000 people.

5. Ongoing inspiration for parents and educators to say yes to literacy that awakens identity and joy.

Literacy is not a test score. It’s a lifeline. And when we say yes to it, we awaken something far bigger than letters on a page.

This is the moment the whisper becomes a call.
And I am ready to answer.
