Why I Created Alphabetter™

When I first began working with children, I noticed something surprising: bright, creative kids were struggling with writing, spelling, and focus. They were smart, but their messy writing and spelling struggles left them frustrated and doubting themselves.

I realized that the problem wasn’t just “practice” or “motivation.” The missing piece was the alphabet itself. Children needed to own the alphabet, not just memorize it. That’s why I created Alphabetter™—a hands-on, multi-sensory learning program where famillies make their own letters, rewire their brains, and build a powerful foundation for confident literacy.

Alphabetter™ isn’t just for kids—it’s for parents too. When children transform frustration into confidence, parents often discover that they also benefit. Adults find relief in understanding their own wiring, and families experience deeper connection through shared learning.

My Journey as a Teacher, Mom, and Lifelong Learner

My path started in law, but my heart led me to education. Over the last 25 years, I’ve studied the root causes of literacy challenges and created practical, joyful ways to solve them. I’ve worked with schools, families, and organizations across the globe, always with the same goal: to help learners discover how smart they truly are.

I’m also the author of Dear Genius: Harness the Hidden Power in Your ABCs, which shares how alphabet ownership can unlock creativity, confidence, and lifelong learning. My greatest joy is watching children light up when learning finally makes sense—and seeing parents realize that the whole family is growing stronger together.
